Astech Projects receive a Royal visit

Astech Projects

Runcorn based leading automation specialist Astech Projects received a Royal visitor on Friday 24 July 2009 when the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Sir William Bromley Davenport, presented the company with a Queen's Award for Enterprise for its outstanding business success.

Astech Projects won its Queen's Award in the Innovation category in April this year. The company specialises in the development and supply of advanced automated system solutions and was recognised for its Xelair® series.

The Xelair series is a series of automated systems designed to perform automated dose content uniformity testing of batch production and R&D respiratory drug delivery devices. Relative to manual methods, the Xelair systems increase throughput, improve safety, reduce solvent usage and increase the quality and volume of test data.

At the presentation ceremony, Astech Projects was presented with a crystal bowl engraved with The Queen's Award Emblem as a symbol of its success as well as a grant of appointment. The company is now also entitled to use the Emblem in all marketing and on packaging for the next five years, here and abroad.

Managing Director Paul Norris comments:

"The Queen's Award for Enterprise is the UK's highest honour for business success. It was a great honour for Astech to receive such a prestigious accolade. The presentation ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to share this success with everyone connected to our business"

The Queen's Award for Enterprise exists to champion the UK's most enterprising, creative and sustainable organisation- from all business sectors. More information about the Queen's Awards can be found at www.queensawards.org.uk
