We’ve joined the SiLA Consortium
The SiLA Consortium is a non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing scientists and their data together.
We have recently worked on several projects that utilise SiLA2 and have had a chance to experience the benefits the standard brings. Having worked with SiLA we felt it was important that we now joined the consortium. We are excited we can become more involved in developing the standard and benefit from being part of the growing community.
By gathering a mix of life science experts and the best of industry SiLA aim to developing free & open system communication and data standards. SiLA and its members provide a framework for the exchange, integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic laboratory information. These standards define how information is transported from one system to another. Setting the language, structure and data types required for seamless integration, SiLA supports the management, delivery, and evaluation of laboratory services.
To read more about the benefits of SiLA you can visit their website. Or join them at their next workshop on “Simplification in the laboratory” held at the ELRIG Drug Discovery Exhibition in November, and learn how how the next generation of robotics will help you in the lab.
Astech are also exhibiting at ELRIG Drug Discovery in Liverpool 5th-6th November 2019. You’ll be able to see our mobile robot lab assistant and talk to us about the simple and accessible ways to bring automation to your laboratory.
